Press and release Learn
Press once and release — do not hold it. Holding for 6+ seconds erases every remote and keypad paired to the opener.

Press the remote button within 30 seconds
Hold the remote button until the opener lights blink or you hear two clicks. That confirms the code was accepted.

Test twice from inside the car
Range problems are usually antenna or battery related, not programming. Test from the driveway, not next to the motor.

Program the keypad and car buttons
Keypads need a 4-digit PIN entered before the Learn press. HomeLink and Car2U systems may need a repeater for post-2011 rolling-code openers.

How much does garage door remote programming cost in Denver?

Why won't my HomeLink button work with my new opener?
Openers made after 2011 use Security+ 2.0 rolling codes. Many HomeLink systems need a small repeater kit paired to the opener before the car button will work. We carry the LiftMaster 855LM/990LM style repeaters.
How do I erase a lost remote?
Press and hold the Learn button until the LED goes out — about 6 to 10 seconds. That clears every paired remote and keypad, so you will need to re-program the ones you still have. Do this immediately if a remote is stolen from a vehicle.
My remote works up close but not from the street. Why?
That's almost always a weak battery or a damaged antenna wire hanging from the motor head. Replace the battery first; if the range is still under 20 feet the antenna or logic board needs service.
Can you program a universal remote to an older opener?
Yes. For dip-switch openers made before 1993 we match the switch pattern; for anything newer we pair a universal Security+ or Intellicode remote. Very old boards sometimes need a receiver upgrade instead.
